Decoration Policy

Woodlawn Cemetery’s decoration policy is intended to preserve the natural beauty of the grounds. Please enjoy your visit to these historic cemetery grounds.

Ground Graves
• Flowers must be in a one-piece cone vase or in an approved plant stand. 2-piece plastic cone vases are discouraged.
• Evergreen Wreaths are allowed between November 1 and March 31st.
Inquire about the Summer Geranium and Winter Wreath programs.

Above Ground – Crypts or Niches
No decorations will be allowed on:
• Mausoleum Crypt or Columbarium Niche covers.
• On top of the Columbariums

Chapel Mausoleum/Columbarium
• Burials within the Mausoleum /Columbarium will take precedence over public viewing
• No decorations are allowed inside of the Mausoleum /Columbarium on the niche covers or on the floor.

What is not permitted anywhere in the Cemetery:
• Dried flowers, household plants
• Planting flowers or trees at the gravesite
• Borders, fences, planter boxes, statues, balloons or spinners
• Solar lights or glow images
• Sheperd Hooks or Crosses
• Glass of any kind

Removal Policy
Decorations not permitted, deemed inappropriate or have deteriorated, will be removed and discarded without notice at any time of the year.

Cemetery Cleanup
In the Spring and Fall the Cemetery will remove all items found at the gravesites. The clean up will follow the schedule below. Any items left at the gravesites during the cleanup period will be removed and discarded without notice.
Spring Cleanup: April 1st to 14th.
Fall Cleanup: October 15th to 31st.
